Build Trust With Useful Vulnerability
Use vulnerability-based trust in a way that improves coordination, help-seeking, and conflict quality.
Vulnerability builds trust only when it changes how the team works. Sharing can create warmth, but work-relevant vulnerability creates reliability. The useful vulnerability test Ask two questions. Does the disclosure help the team coordinate, decide, learn, or support one another? And does the team respond in a way that makes future honesty more likely?
