Use RACI for Master Data Decision Rights
Assign Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed roles for master-data change decisions.
RACI for MDM decisions Responsible executes the master-data task. Accountable owns the yes or no. Consulted provides evidence before the decision. Informed receives the decision after it is made. The accountable role should be singular. If two roles are accountable, the workflow is hiding an unresolved business decision. Where to apply it Use RACI on decisions with cross-functional consequences: supplier banking changes, customer hierarchy moves, product lifecycle status, reference-code additions, and duplicate merges. Do not create a RACI chart for every field if a smaller decision catalog will do.
