A high satisfaction average can still hide a failed outcome. CSAT is useful because it asks a direct question: how satisfied was the customer with this experience? It is easy to answer and easy to trend, especially after a discrete journey step like onboarding, delivery, support, or checkout. But satisfaction averages can hide mixed experiences.
