Use NPS for Relationship Health
Explain when NPS is the right measure and when CSAT is the cleaner signal.
Match the metric to the customer relationship you are measuring. NPS is designed to capture relationship loyalty: how likely a customer is to recommend the organization, product, or service. That makes it powerful for spotting broad shifts in trust, brand experience, and customer advocacy. It is less precise when the real question is whether one interaction was easy, accurate, or satisfying. A transactional moment can influence loyalty, but it is not the same construct.
