Walk a Permission-Denied Deploy
Diagnose a Linux permission failure by following the access path end to end.
Deploy blocked The CI user cannot write into /srv/web/current/assets, and chmod -R 777 /srv/web is on the table. One recursive permission change can create hundreds of unnecessary access grants. Least privilege path trace Identity -> operation -> path components -> narrow grant Linux checks identity and permissions across the whole path. Fix the missing link, not the whole tree. chmod -R Wide, fast, and usually excessive. The final grant is small enough to explain in a review.
