Copy-edit numeric claims by checking meaning, denominator, and reader action before polishing wording.
The suspicious percent The report says: Churn risk is up 40 percent. It gives no base, denominator, timeframe, or action. Numbers without meaning can create false urgency or false comfort. Meaning before mechanics Number clarity path Edit numeric claims by checking what the number measures, what it compares, and what action it supports. Polish percent style Correct typography cannot fix an unclear denominator. The number becomes a usable claim instead of an impressive fragment.
