Worked Example: Respect Reduced Motion Without Killing Feedback

Implement reduced-motion behavior that preserves useful feedback while removing vestibular-risk motion.

A dashboard drawer opens with a slide, scale, and background parallax effect after every filter change. Respect the user's motion preference by replacing vestibular-risk movement with stable feedback. Turning off animations by setting duration to 0 everywhere can remove important state cues if no other feedback remains. Step 1 Identify motion that moves large areas, changes scale, spins, or creates parallax. These patterns are more likely to be problematic than small color or opacity transitions.
