Stop Overbooking by Naming WIP
Recognize appointment overload as a work-in-progress problem and set one explicit WIP limit for the day.
Capacity is a clinical safety signal, not a character test. Name the active work Count work that is actually consuming attention: occupied rooms, drop-offs without a plan, pending doctor decisions, open estimates, pharmacy items, and discharge instructions. Do not count only appointments on the calendar. The calendar shows demand; WIP shows load.
