A one-hour workshop must produce fresh ideas and still leave with a credible shortlist the team can act on. Open the field deliberately, then narrow it transparently. The not-quite move is to ask for ideas and evaluation in the same breath: 'Throw out options and tell us which ones are realistic.' That shortcut kills weaker voices, rewards polished speakers, and makes the room converge on whatever was easiest to say first rather than on what was actually strongest.
