Worked Example: Turn Blame Into NVC

Convert a blaming difficult-conversation opener into an NVC sequence with a concrete request.

Blame sentence: You blindsided me in that meeting. Observation -> Feeling -> Need -> Request The trap is replacing one accusation with a softer accusation, such as 'I feel like you were trying to make me look bad.' That still treats motive as fact and uses 'feel' to introduce a judgment. 1. Observation The pricing risk was raised in the executive meeting before you and I discussed it.
