Write Logs as Events

Author backend logs as structured, safe events instead of unsearchable narrative strings.

Logs should answer questions under pressure A backend log entry should let someone reconstruct a request path, not admire a sentence. Stable event names and fields make dashboards, alerts, and incident queries possible. Prose can be added, but it should not be the only source of meaning. Safety is part of usefulness A log that exposes tokens, card data, or full personal identifiers creates a new incident while investigating the first one.
