Write the PRD as an Alignment Contract
Explain why a PRD must align teams on problem, context, solution, success metrics, and scope.
A PRD should create the same project in every reader's head. If it only lists features, each function fills in the missing purpose differently. The problem-context-solution frame gives the document a spine. The problem says whose pain matters. The context says why this is the moment to act and what constraints shape the decision. The solution says the product direction clearly enough for teams to evaluate it, while leaving room for better implementation ideas. Problem Name the user, job, pain, and evidence. "Admins miss failed invites during onboarding" is stronger than "improve notifications" because it creates a real evaluation target.…
