01Who is responsible
TryOmie LLC , registered in the United Arab Emirates , is the controller of your personal data when you use tryomie.com or our apps. Reach us at privacy@tryomie.com .
If your employer bought Omie for you, your employer is usually the controller and we act as a processor under our data processing agreement. Email us for a signed copy.
02What we collect
Just enough to make Omie work and to know whether it is working. Three buckets:
- Account data: name, work email, your manager’s email if your company set you up, your role.
- Learning data: the lessons you complete, your answers, the time you spent, the patterns we detect.
- Device data: browser, OS, anonymized IP. We use this to ship the product reliably, nothing else.
03How we use it
We use your data to personalize the learning experience, to roll up team-level analytics for your admins, and to make the product better. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
04Who else sees it
Only the people who need to: our infrastructure providers, a small set of analytics partners listed on our sub-processor page, and your company’s named admins. Each one has a contract that constrains what they can do with the data.
05How long we keep it
Active accounts: as long as you are a customer. Deleted accounts: 30 days of soft-deletion, then permanent erasure except where law requires us to keep tax records. Aggregated, fully anonymized usage data may be kept indefinitely.
06Your eight rights
You can access, correct, delete or export your data at any time from Account, then Privacy. Here is the full list.
#### Access
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Free, within 30 days.
#### Rectification
If something is wrong (a typo, an old job title), you can ask us to fix it.
#### Erasure
Also known as the right to be forgotten. One click in account settings.
#### Restriction
You can ask us to stop processing your data while we sort something out.
#### Portability
Export your data in JSON or CSV, ready to take elsewhere.
#### Object
You can object to processing that relies on legitimate interest, including marketing.
#### Automated decisions
We do not make automated decisions with legal effect. You can ask for a human anyway.
#### Complain
You can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, any time.
The GDPR page explains how to exercise each one.
07Cookies , briefly
We group cookies into three categories. Only the first is required for the site to work, and you can switch the other two off at any time.
| Category | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Essential | Keeps you signed in, protects forms, remembers your cookie choice. The product cannot run without these. |
| Analytics | Pseudonymized product analytics so we can see which parts of the product actually help. |
| Marketing | Tells us which campaign brought you to tryomie.com. Off unless you allow it. |
The cookie notice lists every cookie we set, with its expiry.
08When we change this
We bump the effective date at the top and post a note in the product. Material changes get a direct email to admins on team plans.
