Work the Takt Gap
Calculate takt time, compare it to bottleneck cycle time, and choose the correct production-planning lever.
A kit cell must produce 420 kits today. Gross shift time is 540 minutes. Breaks remove 45 minutes, sanitation removes 30 minutes, and the team briefing removes 15 minutes. The bottleneck cycle time is 1.25 minutes per kit. Takt = net available production time divided by customer demand. Compare takt to bottleneck cycle time to see whether the plan pace is feasible.
